Green Bay, Wes. – Aaron Rodgers He said on Tuesday that he doesn’t know how many seasons he will play – acknowledging that the three-year, $150 million contract extension signed in March should not be indicative – but he does know where he will end his career.
A year after he skipped the mandatory Green Bay Packers camp as part of his dissatisfaction with the organization, he was asked if he planned to end his career with the only team he played for in the NFL.
“Yes, sure,” Rodgers said.
This was in doubt as recently as March, when everything was on the table from retirement to ordering trade.
Rodgers put any of those doubts to rest on Tuesday after first practice for the mandatory Packers mini camp. He previously skipped most of the voluntary offseason program to work instead in Southern California.

Maybe he was only half joking. A source said that last June, after Rodgers skipped the mandatory junior camp, the team sent him a letter informing him that he would be fined for his absence.
Tuesday’s practice was his first chance to voice his newly acquired receivers Sammy Watkins (Signed as free agent) and 2022 draft picks Christian Watson (second round) Romeo Dobbs (fourth round) and Samori Tori (seventh round). The only major member of the Crime Packers not present was the receiver Allen Lazardwho has not yet signed the restricted free agent contract.
Rodgers said, “I miss the guys, I love being next to them. It was a great occasion. I appreciate [training] The team returned to Southern California and the work we put in. But it’s good to be back here with the guys. Nice to meet Christian and Romeo and get to know some of the older guys. It’s just about the timing and they feel the rhythm and the urgency and things, and it’s nice to be back in the building with these guys.
“They’ve been fantastic about taking care of myself the way I need to. It’s clear that she has worked the last couple of years with my play, and I expect nothing less.”
Packers coach Matt Lafleur initially wasn’t sure how much work it would cost Rodgers on Tuesday, but after seeing that the ruling team’s top player was in good shape, he allowed Rodgers to take part in nearly every practice, including about 11-for-11. They were at jogging speed.
“The more these guys can get around each other, the more they can learn each other, the faster they can start developing that very important chemistry, which we know is very important in determining our success on the field,” LaFleur said. “So, I’m just excited that we put him in the building with these guys and we’ll see how he goes today.”
The Packers have come off three consecutive seasons with 13 wins but have failed to reach the Super Bowl in any of them, including two losses in the NFC Championship game. And now Rodgers has to deal with life afterwards Davant Adamsan All-Pro receiver who wanted out of Green Bay and traded this season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
“Crime has to change,” Rodgers said. “Last year, when you have a guy with that talent, it’s probably not an exaggeration to say that 80% of the plays in a scrolling game are tailored for 17, so obviously we’re going to do a few things a little differently.”
Rodgers is expected to train again on Wednesday and Thursday but said he will not continue with the finals next week. As for his future after this season, Rodgers said he only considers one season at a time. He described his contract extension as a series of one-year deals that were made in part to give the Packers a significant relief in the salary cap this season.
“If I say I’m sure to play for another two or three years, and then you’re going to have a magical season that ends with a championship and you think that might be the best way to get off the ground, I don’t want to commit to something,” Rodgers said. “She says, ‘I’m just playing an extra year and you have a bitter taste in your mouth and you still have the drive and passion to play for another year or two, I just don’t want to get into that.
“So I’m focused on this season. I would never take him out in the off-season. The conversations I’ve had with Brian have been very honest and direct, that’s not going to change, we’ll sit down after the season, hopefully after the tournament and find out what the next step is.”
