Amtrak, NJ Transit halts Northeast Corridor trains due to power line problems – NBC10 Philadelphia

It was a tough ride on the rails for Amtrak and New Jersey Transit passengers on Monday morning with some trains canceled and others significantly delayed due to an accident in New Jersey.

Downed power lines halted all trains of the Northeast Corridor between Philadelphia and New York during the peak period on Monday, Amtrak tweet.

The issue was first reported around 6:15 am and it has been an issue all morning.

Amtrak warned that travelers may expect delays as the morning goes on. They revealed after 9 a.m. that trains had departed from Philly and New York City. Amtrak eventually canceled the Palmetto 89 and said the Carolinian Train 79 between Raleigh and Charlotte would run while the rest of the train stayed behind.
