Draymond Green reacts to Dillon Brooks’ reaction to Kyrie Irving’s shirt swap

Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks has been on a warpath for the past year or so. He seems still hell-bent on either getting under his opponents’ skin or, at the very least, disturbing the living hell out of them. And his reputation in NBA circles seems to be going downhill, much to the laughter of his opponent, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

In particular, green He couldn’t hold back his euphoria Having witnessed Brooks experience the infamy of a denied jersey swap Monday night after Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving missed the opportunity to pay off the Grizzlies winger’s nod.

“Jackson wants me to talk about Kyrie not wearing Dillon Brooks’ shirt,” the Warriors forward said before bursting into laughter. “Wow Wow wow.”

Dillon Brooks’ constant trash talk seems to be catching up to him. Not only did he fire a few shots towards two dynasty warriors in Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, he also called out Kyrie Irving, in essence telling the Mavs guard he couldn’t wait to match him so he could stalk defensively for him.

Irving then proceeded to clap midway through the game, sarcastically telling the Grizzlies winger to “keep playing that domba defense”. Thus, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the Mavs’ guard refused to take Brooks’ jersey, even if Irving didn’t necessarily reveal the real reason behind his refusal.

Of course, Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks have been sparring for most of the 2022-23 season. The Warriors’ fiery forward was never one to hold back from a fight, and seems to have met his match in terms of tenacity with the Grizzlies winger.

However, as boisterous as Brooks was, his emergence as an enforcer for the Grizzlies appears to have been born out of necessity, as well as from a place of respect from his peers. After all, it wasn’t long ago that Brooks announced he wanted a Draymond Green-type role on his cast.

The hope now is that the Warriors’ public enemy number one doesn’t stand up for his reckless attitude in court with gratuitous actions like punching a photographer without an apology.
