Banning “Rainbow Land” at the children’s party…

Very controversial, says WI School

Miley Cyrus And Dolly PartonA duet not appropriate for elementary school kids to sing…at least according to the Wisconsin principal who banned “Rainbow Land” from the spring concert.

Here’s the deal… The first graders at Heyer Elementary in Waukesha have started the week preparing for their upcoming concert, with “Rainbowland” as part of the initial setlist.

The song was played in the first grade class on Monday, but by Tuesday the principal had emailed the music teacher letting her know that the 2017 Miley and Dolly’s duet was no longer allowed.

Some parents say their kids came home upset on Wednesday after learning they couldn’t sing it…and the kids wonder why it was such a big deal.

admin Jim Seibert In statements to multiple news outlets, “Rainbow Land” was dropped because it “may be seen as controversial” per the school’s recent policies.

The song is from Miley’s album “Younger Now”… She was inspired by the paint in her recording studio. Dolly says the song is about “hope and positivity in trying times”.

Some of the lyrics are, “Living in a rainbow / The sky is blue and things are great / Wouldn’t it be nice to live in heaven / Where we’re free to be exactly who we are.”

While both singers have publicly supported the LGTBQ community, neither has said the song has any intended connection to it.

The supervisor told local media, “The main question is which song is appropriate for the students’ age and maturity level.”

Instead, the students will now sing Jim Henson“Rainbow Link” from The Muppets, as well as “Here Comes the Sun” by The Muppets the Beatles and “It’s a Wonderful World”.
