Barry Jackson I flipped from Nebraska to Cincinnati on National Signing Day.
It’s a surprising move from the 2023 four-star receiver. Jackson, who has been committed to the husk since July 2, seemed steadfast in the class. He made an official visit to Nebraska on December 16-18 for his second OV to Lincoln from his draft and said he was fully planning to sign with the Huskers on Wednesday and sign up early at Nebraska in January.
His commitment still seemed so firm that he was the last not to sign all day Wednesday while the 21 members of the Huskers signed their national letters of intent to officially join the program.
Jackson, one of the most underrated receivers in the country from Cedar Grove High School in Georgia, stuck with the former Huskers’ staff, who included former Husker coaches Mickey Joseph and Shawn Picton. A lot has changed with the Husker software, but it still looks the same Matt Rowley And the new staff did enough to keep Jackson in the fold.
Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Memphis were among the other programs that were Jackson’s top schools prior to his commitment. Cincinnati, who is going through a coaching change of their own, wasn’t among that first group but made a strong impression on them in December.
Jackson made an official visit to Cincinnati the week before his OV Nebraska, and that helped support his decision to head to the Bearcats instead of the Big Ten.
