The only thing the PGA of America hosts were worried about heading into the PGA Championship this week was the early morning Rochester weather.
Undoubtedly, the tournament’s 105th course – which was traditionally held in August until its move to May in 2019 – will start on Thursday amid frigid temperatures, at least for golf.
This was on the heels of a somewhat frigid Wednesday when the players went through their final preparations for the second Grand Slam of the season.

Frost postpones the start of the 2023 PGA Championship in Oak Hill
The Professional Golfers’ Association announced Thursday morning that Oak Hill’s first tee times have been delayed due to frost on the course. To protect the path, no one was allowed to sit on the grass and the gates were not opened until the frost cleared. At six in the morning it was 29 degrees in Pittsford. Today’s high is expected to be in the mid-60s.
