Texas will face Notre Dame later this week in the opener in Omaha. Competing teams such as Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Arkansas also made it to the College World Series Championships.

In three parts of its 38th journey to the World College Series, Texas is moving on to Texas
After eight rounds at Clark Leclerc Stadium, Texas edges out East Carolina 10-1. While issuing two runs and no hits allowed, relief pitcher Travis Steele led the UT through the last two rounds.
Texans go into pole position after receiving six solid innings from Tristan Stevens
When the Texans returned to the field after the seventh inning stretch, Tristan Stevens wandered into the Bulls area to embrace his fellow bowlers. The senior in Year 6 allowed five strokes, three walks and one run on the start of six runs. Five of his 101st foot hits were battered.
Last year, Stevens was the record holder for a UT regional super win over South Florida. Over 5 2/3 innings in that 12-4 win, Stevens hit eight hits and four runs.
Travis Stiletto (3-1, 6.40 ERA) is the next bowler for Texas.
With Texas leading 10-1, Tristan Stevens passed the fifth inning
After East Carolina got two racers on board to lead the bottom of the fifth inning, the Texans began eliminating Jared Southard for their center. However, David Pierce didn’t need to make a show change. Tristan Stevens had a double play which was backed up by a video review and prelude to finish the inning.
So far, Stevens has thrown 84 throws. He allowed four hits and issued two runs.
Trey Valten focuses on top of Texans in his 15th home career
In the fifth inning, Texas shortstop Trey Faltine becomes the first longhorn to discover Garrett Saylor’s ECU housing. After UT was held without injury during Saylor’s first two rounds, Faltine drove the frame with Homer solo.
This was the 15th of Valtin’s home run this year. These 15 fellows would have led the Texas offense in 10 of the previous 11 seasons. Instead, they are currently ranked number three on the UT roster behind Ivan Melendez (32 homers) and Murphy Stehly (19 homers).
Garrett Saylor advances to East Carolina as Tristan Stevens completes his fourth turn in the business
The fifth pirate to compete tonight, East Carolina’s Garrett Saylor had some success against Texas. Saylor kept Texas scoreless during his two rounds. Saylor hit his longhorn but did not allow a hit.
Saylor threw 58 shots in Saturday’s game.
Meanwhile, Tristan Stevens got the Texans through the first four rounds. Stevens allowed three hits and a run. Texas is still leading 9-1.
Texas relies on its early leadership as East Carolina has changed shooters twice
In the second straight run, Texas forced East Carolina to make a call to its office. The Buccaneers have already made two changes to the field with CJ Mayhue replacing Trey Yesavage and then Josh Grosz replacing Mayhue.
Against those three pitches, Texas collected five hits. Eric Kennedy, Murphy Steele, Austin Todd and Skylar Messinger all led runs while the Longhorns extended their lead to 9-1.
East Carolina gets on the scoreboard after super regional resumes
After a nearly five-hour weather delay was ignored, East Carolina quickly got back to work. The Buccaneers kept relief pitcher Trey Yesavage, who had been called up from the hangar before the match was halted, on the hill and retired two Longhorns to finish the first inning.
In the lower half of the first half, East Carolina got her attack on with two singles in a row. In the end, Ledoff hitter Zach Agnus scored the Pirate’s first round at the Sacrifice Fly.
After a delay of nearly five hours, Texas and East Carolina decided to play ball

When play resumes, Texas will lead 4-0 with one at the top of the first half. Silas Ardoin will hit with a runner at first base.
Texas hits first but the weather strikes again in the first half
Texans wasted no time in making a statement in Greenville. To lead the first half, third Douglas Hoodoo made it to the base on the field and Eric Kennedy walked. This is what constituted Evan Melendez, who worked out 2-0 against ECU bowler Danny Bell.
On the first pitch after the hill encounter between Bill and catcher Ben Newtown, Melendez lined up a baseball ball over the fence in left field. The home race was the 32nd of Melendez’s season. In the first-section record books, these 32 homeowners are tied for thirteenth place all-time. This number also created a new standard for one season of BBCOR’s Age of Bats.
After UT cleaning officer Murphy Stehly hits a pitch, the ECU changes pitch. Texans then took a 4-0 lead when Skyler Messinger led at Shetley by one lead from Trey Yesavage.
With one exit in the first half, work at Clark-Leclerc Stadium came to a halt when a second weather delay took effect in the afternoon. No reboot time announced.
