Xi Jinping has warned the US against a possible trip by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

The Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives arrived in Singapore on Monday with a delegation of US elected officials on a four-day tour of Asia. She has to go to Malaysia, then South Korea and Japan. Her stop in Taiwan has not been officially confirmed or denied, but Pelosi has warned that she would not give details of her itinerary for security reasons.
Multiple sources in Taipei and Washington say the high-risk visit will take place and the House Speaker may arrive on the island on Tuesday evening. Absence of denial can be an implicit affirmation.
