Trade rumors about Kevin Durant: Nets owner Joe Tsai responds to reported ultimatum involving Steve Nash, Sean Marks

It’s been over a month since then Brooklyn Networks Star Kevin Durant requested a deal just hours before the free agency was due to start, and there was nothing to indicate a deal was imminent. In fact, There is news that there is “pessimism” surrounding the deal Durant in the near future. The Nets are having a hard time finding other teams to help facilitate the trade, which given the high asking price for a Durant-caliber player, isn’t entirely surprising.

As we approach the start of training camp, there is always the possibility that Durant will remain a member of the Nets when the 2022-23 season begins. However, during a face-to-face meeting in London with team owner Joe Tsai over the weekend, the former league’s best player He reiterated his position that he still wanted to tradeAccording to Shams Al-Shaaraniyah. Durant’s stance hasn’t changed at all during this entire process, but in a bit of new information, two-time champion Tsai also tells the Nets that the Nets need to choose between him, head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks, at Charania. Durant is said to have “no faith” in the franchise’s direction, and with the ultimatum now thrown at him, he’s throwing a new wrench into Brooklyn’s plans moving forward.

Tsai Monday night reply By tweeting, “Our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interests of the Brooklyn Nets.”

While the Nets have not fulfilled their championship aspirations in every season Durant has played with them, it is surprising to hear that he is essentially calling for the firing of both Nash and Marks. Especially in regards to Nash, who initially received support from Durant in the hiring process due to the time the two spent together at Golden State. Nash collected a record 92-62 in two seasons with the nets, including playoff games in both years. However, Nash’s tough tenure began when Irving said on Durant’s podcast that he He doesn’t really see that the team has a head coach In terms of team leadership, shortly after Nash was appointed. Durant agreed and said the training could be a “collaborative effort” between Nash, Durant, Irving and even assistant coach Jack Vaughn. While that can be read as the two players who just want to be vocal leaders for their team, it’s not exactly a great endorsement after Nash’s appointment.

While Nash collected consecutive winning seasons, his training wasn’t entirely flawless. Brooklyn’s defense has been heavily criticized in the past two seasons, and the extreme offense of isolation has not been the most successful game plan. There were also reports showing that Nash’s training style was part of the reason why James Harden wanted a deal from the Nets. So while Durant initially supported Nash when he was brought on, there are certainly reasons why that support has waned.

In terms of Marks, it’s hard to see exactly what issues Durant has with the Brooklyn general manager, a front-office executive who is well respected throughout the league. Just this season, the Nets have made moves that have upgraded their support team around Durant and Irving – should the two stay at Brooklyn – by adding Royce O’Neale, TJ Warren and re-signing Patty Mills. The team will also get a healthy Joe Harris and Ben Simmons to add more talent around their two stars.

This new information about Durant forcing Tsai to choose between him and Nash and Marks certainly makes this whole ordeal even more complicated, and we’ll have to wait and see if any further repercussions come from it.
