Druckmann also brought to the stage Joel’s voice actor Troy Baker and Elle’s voice actor Ashley Johnson who will have roles in the upcoming HBO series, but not like Joel or Ellie. Druckmann promises that these roles aren’t token winks, but something intrinsic.

The Last of Us director also promised that the HBO series would be the most faithful video game adaptation yet, which may be more than a promise given his involvement in both the game and the show.

Alongside the update on the HBO series, Druckmann has shared the first look at the new “massive” multiplayer mode and the full reveal of the remake of Part One of The Last of Us.
