Now here is something cool. Capcom just released a new update for Resident Evil Village that removes Denuvo’s anti-tamper technology from it.
Capcom has also removed Denuvo from the game’s Steam store page. As such, we are certain that this removal was intentional, not accidental.
Resident Evil Village was released in May 2021. In other words, it took Capcom about two years to nail it down. However, this is great news for all those who wanted to play it (but boycotted it because of Denuvo). Moreover, PC gamers can now benchmark this new release to see if Denuvo has affected its overall performance.
To be honest, though, we weren’t surprised by Denuvo’s removal. After all, Capcom has removed it from most of their older titles. For example, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Devil May Cry 5, and Monster Hunter World you no longer own.
