Cara Delevingne's mansion in Los Angeles was gutted by fire

Fire gutted a mansion in Los Angeles belonging to British model and actress Cara Delevingne.

The 31-year-old was not present at the time, as she is currently starring in a play in London's West End.

The pictures show huge flames rising from the roof of the luxury house, and then the smoldering black ruins.

“My heart is broken,” Delevingne wrote on Instagram when she thought her two pet cats had died in the fire.

“Life can change in the blink of an eye, so cherish what you have,” she said.

However, she later informed her 42 million followers of the good news that the cats had survived the fire, writing: “They're alive! Thanks firefighters.”

Two people were injured in the fire that swept through the two-story property in the hills of Studio City, northwest of Hollywood. The Los Angeles Fire Department said a firefighter was taken to the hospital in stable condition, while a resident suffered minor smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were called to the scene after a 911 call was made at around 04:00 local time (11:00 GMT) on Friday.
