EA Sports FC 24 seems to ‘run great’ on Switch, will include ‘all modes’

Last week, EA gave Nintendo Switch fans their first look at its new series, EA Sports FC 24, due for a September release.

If you’re still curious to know exactly how to play the game on Nintendo’s older hybrid hardware, according to EA Executive Vice President of Product John Shepherd, it “works great.”

He mentioned this during a recent chat with IGN, while also reiterating how the Switch version will include “all modes.” The catch is that there will be “some differences” and it will be “more representative” of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 game than next-gen systems, due to the hardware.

The only feature that will be missing from the Switch version of the game is cross-play. Aside from this, Shepherd called the Nintendo version a “huge achievement” and noted how it took several years for EA and their teams to make it work “really well on Switch”. Nintendo has taken a look at it, too:

“We’ve been reviewing it with Nintendo not too long ago. Everyone is really excited about it.”

EA Sports FC 24, as previously revealed, runs on EA’s Frostbite engine and will include Volta Football, Ultimate Team, player and manager modes, and even Joy-Con multiplayer support. It launches along with other versions of the game on September 29, 2023.
