Gavin Rossdale He shares his side of his divorce from Gwen Stefani: a famous American singer. The 58-year-old Bush singer has mostly kept quiet about his ex-wife and their three children, but on this week's episode of Amy and TJ On a podcast with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, he spoke candidly about the “clearest, simplest shame” that was giving his children a “broken home.”
Rossdale and Stefani, 54, share sons Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10. Rossdale is also a father to 35-year-old daughter Daisy Lowe from a previous relationship with Pearl Lowe.
Rossdale and Stefani first met in 1995 and married in 2002. They announced their split in 2015 amid rumors that Rossdale was unfaithful to Stefani.
“I never thought I'd ever get divorced. So there's a little shame in my life,” Rossdale explained.
He pointed out that his parents were married three times, and added that he never wanted his children to have an experience similar to his.
“I feel bad for my kids, that's all,” he said. “I wish I could find a way to not have that happen in their lives. It wasn't fun for me to come from a broken home… It can be very debilitating for kids… The overriding things are that you don't want to let your kids down.”
“The biggest thing is when you see kids that sometimes there's a loss. It would be nice if there was more connection with the person who brought them to me,” Rossdale said, without naming Stephanie directly.
Stefani married the singer Blake Shelton In 2021. The frontwoman was undoubtedly first linked to the country singer the sound When she was separating from Rossdale and Shelton was going through a divorce from Miranda Lambert.
“I go to a lot of events where I'm on 'the other team,' so to speak, and I feel really proud of myself in my consistency as a father. I know in my heart that I'm very consistent,” the British musician said, apparently referring to Stefani and Shelton.
Despite what he described as a “very controversial, very emotional and heated situation,” Rossdale noted that he is doing his best not to talk about Stefani.
“Less was said, it was quickly fixed and I said nothing,” he said of the divorce. “I'm handcuffed because I would never want to say anything overly negative about their mother. That's not true.”
Rossdale said he feels at peace about how things are going between him and Stephanie.
“I believe there are no accidents in life, so you're where you're supposed to be. So I don't live in regret,” he said. “Life unfolds as it should.”
In fact, he recently went on Instagram official with his musician girlfriend Xhoana, revealing that she met his and Stefani's kids.
