This has been confirmed. Deadline scoop from earlier this year that post Gavin and Stacey The Christmas special was in the works and has been sealed and will be the last comedy smash ever.
Posting on Instagram in the last few minutes, co-creators James Corden and Ruth Jones wrote: “Some news… it's official!!!” We have finished writing the final episode of the series Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James.
Deadline revealed that the episode has been in the works for several weeks, though several cast members quickly sought to downplay the significance of our story. Baby Cow, Corden's Fulwell 73 and Ruth Jones' Tidy Productions are behind the special.
