“American Idol” viewers cast their votes and determined which of the season's remaining 20 contestants would make it to the Top 14.

As the ten singers with the most votes make it to next week during Monday night's episode, the other half of the group have been put in the “danger zone” to sing for their lives. These 10 “Idol” hopefuls competed for the remaining four spots, which were distributed by judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

I comeHis placement in the bottom half of the contestants proved controversial, with the audience booing “Idol” fans who didn't catapult the 27-year-old nursing home security guard from Brooklyn into the top 14. But that wasn't the most shocking moment of the night, as Perry had a wardrobe malfunction as the night came to its dramatic conclusion.

Monday night's six-person elimination, which included the departure of one of this season's three platinum ticket holders, came after Elleigh Marie, KBlocks, Blake Proehl and Haley Mia were voted off Sunday night for failing to receive enough votes from last week's top 24 performers in Hawaii.

He was tasked with winning over the judges with his performance of The Weeknd's “Call Out My Name.”

Ajii, known for his truly impressive vocal box, continued his streak of strong performances on Monday night. However, the pink hat atop his head was the most striking aspect of his performance, visually, as Ajii remained center stage with the microphone stand.

“The public is booing the American vote,” Perry noted.

She added that Agee “brings the vocals” and “at the end of the day, it's a singing competition.” However, it also pointed out that a contestant needs more than just a good vote to make it to the end.

“This is a family show,” Katy Perry says after a wardrobe malfunction.

After being put in the “danger zone,” Roman Collins took his “sing for your life” instruction to heart when he sang James Brown's “It's a Man's World.”

The impact of his performance was so powerful, apparently, that Perry lost part of her sophisticated top, which looked like a more pronounced version of Chicago's Cloud Gate, also known as “The Bean.”

“That song ruined my shirt,” Perry explained as she sat under the desk to hide the problem. “This is a family show.”

“You have the power to blow the roof off somewhere,” Brian told Roman. “Or the top!” Perrie chimed in, eventually grabbing a seat cushion to her chest to hold her high-end outfit together.
