Kiev condemns Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s “hypocrisy” at the UN

Europe’s top diplomat calls for more ammunition to Ukraine

According to the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borrell, the supply of ammunition to the Ukrainian army must be rapidly developed.

“We know that Ukraine urgently needs ammunition and missiles and needs them to defend its territory”The European diplomatic chief said on Monday after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg. “More than a thousand missiles have been delivered, as well as many other weapons, and the number is constantly increasing, but it is expected to increase even more rapidly in the coming days”, he added.

A while waiting “It’s Peace” Mr Borrell, caught up in the conflict with Russia, said the EU would continue to support Ukraine’s security. According to him, the European Union has provided more than 13 billion euros in military support to Kiev. An additional tranche of one billion euros is being finalized for the joint purchase of new ammunition. “There are some disagreements, but the work continues. We are not waiting for the legal document to start working”He expressed hope.

EU members have agreed to buy ammunition from companies in Norway that are in the European Union or have close economic ties to it. But, according to diplomats, France insists on manufacturing in Europe, loyal to the partisan line of a strong European defense sector. The stance has angered several EU countries, including Germany, the Netherlands and Poland, which have expressed doubts about the European industry’s ability to produce enough ammunition in the short term.
