It’s been a long time coming since Square Enix’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake came out, and now some fans have hope with the latest update that the first two games will return as well.

Adding fuel to the fire is a new comment from reliable leaker Midori, who seems to think that this new release for Switch and many other platforms could feature… complete triple (So that’s Dragon Quest I, II, and III).

The latest video suggests that “The Legend of Erdrick is approaching” and that there is a single “HD-2D” logo, but there is no specific mention of the third game.

Erdrick is the title that the hero gets in the third outing and the original three versions are known as the “Erdrick Trilogy”.

The same leaker claims that fans will likely hear more about this in an upcoming “Nintendo Direct,” and says that the title will be delivered by the end of the current fiscal year.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake was originally announced in May 2021 and appears to have been in development long before that – so a triple release would likely explain why the project took so long to see the light of day.

At the same time as this project was revealed, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii mentioned how a remake of Dragon Quest 1 and II was already being considered but was not “official yet.”

Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed about the threesome at this point, so don’t get too excited.
