New villages on the islands of Rhodes, Corfu and Euboea were evacuated on Monday July 24 in the face of fires that have ravaged parts of Greece. But in Rhodes, the wind is so strong that the front of the island still stretches over tens of kilometers between the center and the south of the island. In Euboea, two years after the island was destroyed by flames, people are disturbed by this new fire.

On Wednesday, temperatures across the country are likely to touch 44 degrees, with a maximum of 46 degrees at some places. The heat should drop a bit on Thursday and the wind should die down.
