Russia launches an air attack overnight on Ukraine from east to west

June 20 (Reuters) – Russia launched a massive air offensive throughout the night in Ukraine targeting the capital and cities from east to west as much of the country spent the night as sirens sounded for several hours.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that according to preliminary information, 28 out of 30 Iranian-made Shahed drones launched by Russia were shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems.

Serhiy Popko, the head of the military department in Kiev, said on the Telegram messaging application that the troops and our air defense have identified and destroyed about 20 enemy targets in the airspace around Kiev.

“Another massive air attack on the capital,” Popko said.

The military administration in Lviv, a city of about 700,000 people located 70 km from the border with NATO-affiliated Poland, said Russia had bombed “vital infrastructure” in the city, which led to a fire.

According to initial reports, there were no injuries.

Yuriy Malashko, head of the military administration for the Zaporizhia region in southeastern Ukraine, said in the messaging app Telegram that the Russian raid targeted telecommunications infrastructure, farming and farming property.

No injuries were reported in Zaporozhye.

Russia’s top military command said seven missiles were fired in the attack on Zaporizhia, according to initial reports.
