Sarah Ferguson breaks silence on Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis amid her own battle

Sarah Ferguson has issued a statement in support of Kate Middleton amid her cancer diagnosis.

Fergie, 64, wrote in a letter: “All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she begins her treatment.” Instagram share on monday. “I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone praying for the best outcome.”

The Duchess of York, who revealed her skin cancer diagnosis in January after battling breast cancer last year, added: “As someone who has faced her own battles with cancer in recent months, I am absolutely impressed by the way she has spoken publicly about cancer.” Diagnosing it and knowing it would do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness. I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal.

She was married to Prince Andrew, 64, from 1986 to 1996, but remained a regular presence at royal family events. The former couple have daughters Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 34.

Earlier this month, Fergie reportedly received good news that her skin cancer had not spread.

“Thankfully, they've come clean. That's the best news you can get at this stage,” a royal friend said. People magazineAdding that Fergie undergoes check-ups every 12 weeks.

“She is very relaxed,” the source added.

However, Middleton revealed on Friday in a video announcement that she had been diagnosed with cancer following planned abdominal surgery in January, and is now undergoing preventive chemotherapy.

“This was of course a huge shock, and William and I did everything we could to make it happen
“We are treating and managing this matter privately for the sake of our little family,” the 42-year-old mother of three said in the video, stressing that she is “fine and getting stronger every day.”

“But most importantly, we took the time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that was right for them, and to reassure them that I would be OK.”

The couple waited to publicly share her diagnosis until their children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — were on Easter vacation.

She also described her husband, Prince William, 41, in a statement on Friday as “a great source of comfort and reassurance.”

William's father, King Charles III, 75, is fighting his own battle with cancer, which Buckingham Palace announced in February.

“During the King’s recent procedure in hospital for benign prostatic hyperplasia, a separate matter of concern was noted,” the palace said in a statement at the time. “Subsequent diagnostic tests identified a form of cancer.

“His Majesty the King has today begun a schedule of regular treatments, during which time doctors have advised him to postpone his public duties.

The palace added: “Throughout this period, His Majesty the King will continue to carry out state business and official papers as usual.”

British royal insider Sally Bedell Smith recently told People magazine that Middleton and Charles had a private lunch the day before her diagnosis video was released.

Meanwhile, Kate and William have since traveled to Sandringham Farm with their children ahead of the Easter holiday.
