Shannon Bedore and her boyfriend, John Jansen, have split after three and a half years together.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 58, announced Wednesday that she was “shocked” when Jansen, 59, dumped her in late November, just a week after they ended. Filming Season 17 of Bravo.
“We were in a great place,” she said people said. “But seven days later, when the cameras were down, it was a completely different story. He told me he was done with the relationship. And to hear what he said to me then was absolutely devastating.”

“I hoped this was the man I would spend the rest of my life with,” she told the magazine. “I wanted it to work out. I’ve never loved anyone the way I loved John. But he clearly didn’t feel the same way.”
After the split, both exes saw each other in a couple of USC games — and even Shannon Posted selfies with Janssen on Instagram on both occasions.
“I was hoping we could find a way forward,” she explained. “But being around each other only made it more difficult for both of us.”
Since then, however, both Shannon and Jansen have kept their distance and even recently unfollowed each other on Instagram.
“The holidays were so hard. I couldn’t believe he wasn’t here, and there would be days when I would cry myself to sleep,” she admitted. “But it’s a new year, and I’m ready for a fresh start.”
Janssen, the president of an insurance brokerage firm, also spoke to People, noting that he feels “pain” over his “very difficult” decision to quit with Bravolebrity.
“It’s sad because I love Shannon so much,” he said. “I have loved her more than any woman in my life…and I know that as long as I live, I will never meet anyone like her again.”
“But that doesn’t mean we’re right for each other for the rest of our lives,” he added.
Jansen said he realized he “didn’t believe” in their relationship, because “love isn’t always enough”.
“I think Shannon’s world,” he concluded. “I just want the best for her. She deserves it.”
The duo began dating after meeting through mutual friends in 2019. Viewers watched their relationship ups and downs in the final seasons of “RHOC” — including Shannon’s. Apologies to Janssen for being treated badly during the COVID-19 lockdown and addressing rumors that he was kicked out of a golf tournament for being too drunk.
