Less than 18 months after it was first introduced, Tesla is allegedly pulling Steam support from its cars.
Back in December 2022, Tesla confirmed that games like Cuphead, Sonic, and Cyberpunk 2077 could be played as part of the original Steam beta app on the company’s S and X models.

Now, according to… ElectricIt appears that the company has retracted this decision.
“Tesla is updating the gaming computer in your Model VGC). “All entertainment functions and other applications will not be affected.”
There has been no confirmation as to why the functionality was dropped, but it is believed that existing Tesla owners who already use the app will not be affected.
Tesla was investigated by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2021 over its passenger gamification feature. Tesla responded by making Passenger Play “unusable” while the car was in motion, restricting Steam functionality so that it could only be used when the car was parked or charging.
