The Eagles trade back to D’Andre Swift from the Lions

The Eagles acquired running back D’Andre Swift from the Detroit Lions in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick. The two teams also traded 2023 seventh-round picks.

Swift, star of St. A former Joseph’s Prep who attended the University of Georgia, the Eagles are gifted with a dynamic talent in the back field. He rushed for 1,680 yards, averaging 4.6 yards per carry, with 18 rushing touchdowns across 40 career games (16 starts) for Detroit. He is also a proven pass player; Swift has 156 receptions for 1,198 yards and seven touchdowns. He has fumbled only six times in his career, including just once last season.

Swift, 24, is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie deal. He joins a running backroom that includes third-year Kenneth Ginnuel, free agent addition, Rashad Penny, veteran Boston Scott, Trey Sermon, and Kennedy Brooks.

Swift’s tenure in Detroit ends shortly after the Lions draft running back Jahmir Gibbs in the first round. The Lions also signed former Chicago Bears David Montgomery to free agency.
