The opening of the first Dragon Ball theme park in the world in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The world's first theme park dedicated to the world of Dragon Ball comics, films and games will be built in Saudi Arabia, allowing visitors to live the adventures of Goku and his friends.

the Qiddiya Investment Company Behind the project shared details on what to expect from the development. The park will extend over an area of 500,000 square meters and include seven themed lands based on different Dragon Balls. There will be more than 30 themed rides across the lands, as well as five major attractions, hotels and restaurants.

The concept art below gives potential visitors a teaser of the park's plans. The images reveal several famous landmarks from the Dragon Ball sagas, including Kame House, C Capsule Corporation, and Beerus' Planet. The artwork also features an unmissable 70-metre high Shenron roller coaster.

The theme park news comes in the same year that the original Dragon Ball manga series will celebrate its 40th anniversary and just a few weeks after the death of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, prompting fans and industry peers around the world to come together to remember the life and work of the legendary artist.

Between the original series, the more popular “Z” series, the divisive GT, and the hugely successful Super, Toriyama's Dragon Ball has transcended its manga beginnings to become a pop culture phenomenon. The newly announced theme park will allow fans to immerse themselves in the world of Dragon Ball in real life.

The company behind the theme park has yet to reveal its opening date, but construction on the massive project is expected to begin soon.
