Could DC plot a path to navigate outside of Marvel’s shadow? This has been the question for the past ten years (since Christopher Nolan’s closing Batman Triple). Newly crowned Warner Bros. chief discovery David Zaslav thinks he has the answer, and it’s… the same thing men before him have tried to do, essentially.

Zaslav said at the exhibition The infamous WB earnings call (for every The Hollywood Reporter). “We have reset. We have restructured the business where we will focus, as there will be a team with a ten-year plan focused solely on the capital. We believe we can build a more sustainable business.”

Oh, gee, 10 year plan? Why had no one thought of that before? It’s kind of weird to pretend we weren’t all over the place because of Zack Snyder’s verse attempt. Moreover, it is not a “reset” when there is only one movie (bat girl) and the rest – all of which are still tangled up in the Snyderverse to some degree – are to go forward (until the panic flash Movie).

“It’s very similar in structure to Alan Horn, [former Disney CEO] Zaslav said, as if copying and pasting from the MCU handbook had worked for any of its predecessors. He might want to consider Feige as someone the directors actually want to work with; marvel head compassionate response to me Adel Al-Arabi and Bilal Falah after, after bat girl It was canned only making Zaslav and DC look worse by comparison.

But Zaslav is determined to “focus on quality” and not “shoot a movie before it’s ready”, which seems more like the basis of the film industry than a new and innovative strategy. “The goal is to grow the DC brand. To grow the DC characters,” he said. “But also, our job is to protect the DC brand, and that’s what we’re going to do.” DC fans will surely sleep better knowing that this is the man who protects their beloved heroes.
