Hillsdale College has announced that the TV personality will become the new chair of the board of trustees, following the retirement of current chair William Brodbeck, a college spokesperson confirmed.

“Our Board of Trustees is a group of dedicated men and women who honor and support the historic mission of Hillsdale,” said Rich Pewe, Managing Director. “We are delighted that Pat will take the lead as a loyal friend of the college.”

“Chairman Brodbeck has provided years of wise guidance and strong leadership to the board and the college. We have full confidence that Pat will carry on this legacy and help lead the college into the future.”

Broadbeck, a Hillsdale Class of ’66, retired as President of the Board of Trustees, but continued to serve the College as President Emeritus.

Sajak previously served as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Hillsdale College since October 2003.

Joining Sajak, Steve Van Andel, a 1978 graduate and president of Amway, was named vice president. Van Andel graduated from Hillsdale College with a BA in Economics and Business Administration in 1978.

Andell was a Co-Chair of the Board of Directors at Amway and twice served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee.
