A Red Dead Redemption player logged on to Google Stadia is begging Rockstar for nearly 6000 hours to allow characters to be transferred after news of the service’s closure.
Youtube Tweet embed (Opens in a new tab) I took to Twitter shortly after this news was posted Google Stadia is closed erupted yesterday. “No, you don’t understand how seriously my anger is,” the tweet read, along with a screenshot showing that they had put 5,907 hours into Red Dead Redemption on Google’s game service.

“For context: These hours are on Google Stadia and today Google announced that they will be closing the platform,” a Tweet follow (Opens in a new tab) It reads, “RockstarGames Please let’s do a one-off character transfer I beg of you.” In case you weren’t aware, once Google shuts down its Stadia service on January 18, 2023, ItsColourTV progress will all be wiped out, meaning they’ll need to start a new save file on another platform – with every 5,907 hours (approximately) 246 days) is lost.
Fellow Red Dead Redemption players seem to have sympathy for ItsColourTV, with many responding to the tweet with suggestions on how to save this player’s save. One I suggested (Opens in a new tab) That ItsColourTV is using Google Takeout – a data download service – to transfer their files to your computer, which they replied: “I do not play story mode.” Rockstar, if you’re reading this, do our guy a favor and let him convey his character just once.
