“Occupation forces open fire on people waiting for food trucks at Kuwait roundabout”, said AFP doctor Mohammed Gurab, director of emergency services at the hospital, the largest in the north of the Gaza Strip. At the site, an AFP collaborator found numerous remains and gunshot wounds. The Israeli military, contacted by AFP, did not immediately comment on the report. The UN fears widespread famine in the territory besieged by Israel, particularly in the hard-to-reach north, home to 300,000 people.

In the face of the humanitarian emergency, many countries have decided to diversify their ways of providing aid to people via airdrops or sea corridors from Cyprus with the first shipment from the NGO Open Arms expected in the next few hours. In the north of the Gaza Strip, residents scan the skies daily and wait for an airdrop, but the number of drops is low. By the end of February, more than a hundred Palestinians had lost their lives, according to Hamas, as food aid distribution became a nightmare in the northern Gaza Strip.
