“Heartland” actor Robert Cormier He died as a result of his injuries sustained in his “tragic” fall. Friday at the age of 33.
Cormier’s sister revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Cormier died in a hospital in Etobicoke, Canada, after a bad fall, though she did not go into details.
His family later confirmed this information in a statement to people “Ruby died as a result of a tragic accident,” he said.
The statement continued, “Robbie was loved by many and his unexpected death left us devastated.”
“While we are deeply saddened, we are comforted by the great love and support shown to our family by Robbie’s friends, colleagues and fans,” they concluded the statement, before thanking hospital staff and asking for privacy during this difficult time.
Cormier, who played Finn Cotter on CBC’s long-running show, is remembered as an “athlete, actor, and great brother.” in his obituary
“He enjoyed movie nights with his family, and looked up deeply to his father. The obituary stated that he influenced many people throughout his life whether they were family members, teammates or friends.
He is survived by his parents Robert and Lisa and sisters Brittany (Derek), Crystal and Stephanie, “who meant the world to him”.
In the wake of his tragic passing, the official “Heartland” Instagram page paid homage to the late actor.
“We are deeply saddened to learn the news of Robert Cormier’s passing. He has been a beloved member of the Heartland cast the last two seasons. On behalf of the cast and crew of Heartland, our thoughts are with him and his family, who have asked for privacy during this difficult time,” Read their statement.
Cormier has joined the show for its 15th season and is expected to be on the next season, which airs on October 2.
The actor also appeared in the films “Slasher”, “Designated Survivor”, “American Gods” and “Ransom”.
