MacKenzie Scott has reportedly filed for divorce from her second husband, Dan Jewett. The couple married last year.
The billionaire philanthropist who was once married Jeff Bezospetitioned for divorce in King County Superior Court in Washington state on Monday, the New York Times reported.
The news of the couple’s separation comes just a year after Scott and Jewett tied the knot in California.

Representatives for Scott and Jewett did not immediately respond to a FOX Business request for comment.
Bezos’ divorce raises the question: Is there a right way to divorce?
The newspaper reported that Jewett did not object to the divorce. The couple is said to have a separation contract detailing the property division agreement. The agreement has not been made publicly available.
Scott and Jewett, a former science teacher, first met at her children’s school, according to the Washington Post. Bezos shares four children.

“He was engaging, energetic, passionate, friendly, and social in a really serious way,” Josh Verlaine told the outlets. “Obviously he loved what he was doing, I loved teaching and I loved science, and I enjoyed working with students… He was very engaging, and I wanted you to be in his class.”

Bezos and Scott have been married for 25 years Announcing their split in 2019. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index, Scott has a net worth of $28.9 billion, making her one of the richest women in the world.
Bezos announced the news of their separation in a statement on Twitter.

“We want to make people aware of an evolution in our lives. As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and experimental separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our joint life as friends,” read the statement signed by both.
