If you’ve been online for the past couple of weeks, you probably know that Ned Vollmer left Try Guys after it turned out that he was. betraying his wife with a colleague.

It came as a huge surprise to fans because, after all, Vollmer was known as a man wifeand Try Wife Ariel were a regular feature of the group’s content.

So they wrote History Night Cookbook Together, discovering relationship-related things has been part of their brand.

But when photos showed Ned kissing video producer Alexandria Hering at a bar in New York City, it quickly became the only thing anyone on Twitter or TikTok wanted to talk about.

Vollmer, Eugene Lee Yang, Zach Kornfield and Keith Habersberger created the Try Guys group while working at BuzzFeed in 2014. (They left and started their own production company in 2019, which BuzzFeed Inc. has a financial stake in.)

The most ridiculous part of the Ned Fulmer/Try Guys drama is that someone at Buzzfeed is going to write an article about it.

It was clearly a big BuzzFeed news story; Internet culture is an essential component of what we write about.

Twitter confirmed that “try guys” is the number. 1 Popular topic in the US, followed by “ariel” – here’s the explanation: https://t.co/IXloAwWeIU

This week’s host Brendan Gleeson drops the breaking news of Tray Jays’ reaction with the attention of a White House reporter.

Ego Nwodim stands by anyone who has been completely baffled by the scandal and the impact it has suddenly had on people. “What in the world is Jay Jay?” She asks.

Bowen Yang, in particular, captures the intensity that Try Guys’ real-life experience brought to the situation.

But for some people, the jokes missed a critical point – that Vollmer not only cheated, he cheated with someone he worked with less powerful than him.

If anything, can we stop playing it down as just a simple cheating scandal. Ned Vollmer was her boss. This was a power imbalance, and companies like SNL are just twisting the narrative for laughs. It’s just stupid, and unfair to the rest of the men trying to fight while they’re fighting

That comic attempt at men was tasteless…saying they overreact to being fired when it’s so rare for men to face the consequences of their actions in the #snl entertainment industry

Other people were upset because Ned – the one who did something worth apologizing for – didn’t make fun of him.

Hate how they cared enough to find and buy exactly the zach shirt but not enough to do silly basic research on why ned should be the butt of their banter, not other guys #tryguys #snl https://t.co/AN0Chwi8WM

I shouldn’t care about this too much but we’re going to try some guys where they make fun of not ned but the other three for holding him accountable for all his shit and getting hurt by it is too bad like please tell me more dad how funny you think a guy cheats on his wife with his employee

Some praised Try Guys for taking their work environment seriously.

To be clear, men are probably the only people in the entertainment industry who actually take action to stop men from inappropriately using their power and are publicly shamed for speaking out about their feelings about it. Awesome take snl https://t.co/PmD3VYz3Tg
