Apple is down: Thousands of users are complaining that they can’t access the App Store, iCloud and Apple Maps

It looks like Apple suffered a major outage today after users started reporting problems accessing the App Store, iCloud, and Apple Music.
According to Down Detector, a site that monitors website outages, thousands of people complained of problems around 16:30 GMT (11:30 ET).
Users have also logged issues with Find my iPhone, Apple Maps, iTunes, iMessage, and Apple TV.
Apple’s internal corporate and retail systems are also understood to be down, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gorman, who said it “limits remote work and retail operations such as product pickup and repairs.”
It is currently unclear what causes these problems.

The company has not yet commented on the problems it encounters, but it is believed to be a global problem Complaining users in both the US and the UK.
Many Apple users have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration.
Someone wrote: ‘iMessage seems to be disabled because no one can send media.. Apple? What’s going on.’
Another added: “I will assume that the Apple Maps server is down because I am steadily trying to enter the address of my next location in the location and it says the server cannot be reached.
“So I guess I’ll use Waze to get there.”
In the UK, most complaints were registered in cities such as Manchester and London
