Agency France-Presse (AFP) learned from hospital services on Tuesday, December 21, that two union representatives who rallied against vaccine duty in Martinique had died as a result of Govt-19.
Alain DeGail, president of Martinique’s Federation of Independent Taxis, died at the age of 61 on Monday. Since September, he has organized several snail operations on the island in protest of the vaccination duty imposed on his company. After suffering from Kovit-19 disease, he was admitted to the hospital for three weeks and was treated in intensive care, Martinique University Hospital said.
Aimé Agat, leader of the union for the protection of Martinique artists, died Monday, at the age of 48, after being admitted to hospital in intensive care, according to hospital services.
“We took the maximum precautionary measures”
According to union sources, they were injured during a meeting with the provincial council. The two trade unionists joined the union between the unions, which had called for a general strike on November 22, 2021, to mark its opposition to vaccine duty and health permits.
