Solar eclipse 2024: what to know and how to prepare for it
AccuWeather astronomy expert Brian Lada explains key things to know about the upcoming total solar eclipse that will darken U.S. skies from Texas to Maine on April 8.
The path of the April 8 total solar eclipse passes through only a small portion of Michigan. The route includes the southeastern corner of Michigan and reaches places like Luna Pier or Erie Township.
If you can't travel to view the eclipse or be out when the celestial event occurs in those areas, Michiganders will get another chance in 75 years, according to NASA.

The next total solar eclipse that will be visible in Michigan is September 14, 2099, When the path of the kidney crosses the southwest Lower Peninsula. It will include the main display areas Benton Harbour, South Haven, Dutch And Grand rapidsby time and date AS.
