Comedian and actress Amy Schumer She revealed that her young son, Jane, was admitted to the emergency room this week with RSV.

“This has been the hardest week of my life,” Schumer wrote in one of his Instagram posts. Posted on Sunday. “Shout out to all the parents who are going through this right now.”

The ordeal was even more stressful because Schumer was scheduled to host “Saturday Night Live.” She wrote that she missed Thursday’s rehearsals for the show because of his illness.

“I have to be with him all day in the hospital,” she said, “and the beautiful humans of @nbcsnl couldn’t have been more supportive.”

“The reason this show is so fun to do is not actually the performance or the show itself. You have to spend time with the people there. The actors and writers of course but the people behind the scenes making it go smoothly are my favorite.”

“Thank you to everyone there and to the doctors and nurses who helped us,” she added.

Jane, Schumer’s 3-year-old son, is now home and doing better, according to her post.

Respiratory syncytial virus, or RSVIt has spread rapidly in the United States this season for respiratory viruses.

It has particularly affected children, which has put a lot of pressure on children’s hospitals that also continue to fight Covid-19 and other seasonal diseases including influenza.

RSV hospitalization rates have already reached rates not normally seen until December in the United States, According to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
